NORWAY — First Universalist Church (Unitarian Universalist) of Norway enthusiastically welcomed the congregation’s new Office Manager, Linda Smith of West Sumner, on September 1. As Office Manager, Smith will tend to the church’s administrative functions including rentals. Office hours will be Mondays from noon to 3 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon. “Linda is a wonderful fit for our congregation. We are thrilled to have found such an experienced and accomplished office manager,” said Joanne McDonald, chair of the church’s Board
of Trustees. Smith attended the University of Maine School of Nursing but, as she wrote for our newsletter, The Free Thinker,“… the organization and exactness of the corporate world called to me and I spent many happy years in various customer service, accounting, and training positions.” Linda and her life partner Glenn also ran Beeps’ bakery for several years. After about twenty years in the business world, another vocation called Smith; this time it was the holistic health arena, where she and Glenn have been certified to both practice and instruct several modalities. Smith and her husband Glenn run their holistic health practice together. “Linda brings a wealth of office management experience to us. We are already wondering how we got along without her,” said Rev. Fayre Stephenson, minister of the church. The First Universalist Church (Unitarian Universalist) of Norway is a certified UUA “Welcoming Congregation.” Services are Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. Visit us at our website at www.norwayuu.org.
