Marshall Emery Gross

LEWISTON – Marshall Emery Gross, 67, passed away at CMMC Sept. 21, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. The son of Helena and Frank Gross Jr., Marshall was born in Kodiak, Alaska, and grew up in Lisbon.

A member of LHS class of ‘72, he went on to take over his father’s construction business. Marshall loved his work and was a talented carpenter. He was passionate about athletics, a huge fan of all Boston teams. He sponsored his own slow-pitch softball team and coached his daughters’ softball teams. Later in life he joined a golf league. Marshall’s wide-ranging interests included playing guitar, writing songs, and gardening. A member of the Audubon society, he educated others about birds and especially enjoyed warbler sightings. He studied the night skies as an amateur astronomer, always curious about life beyond our planet.

Marshall loved traveling and relaxing on the beach. We hope he is there now. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Cindy Cash, daughters Nerissa and Serena, countless friends and family. Marshall is predeceased by his parents and twin brother, Matthew. Marshall is survived by sister Andrea, brother Bartholomew, brother Frank, brother Whitney and his wife Stephanie, nieces and nephews.
