DEAR SUN SPOTS: A pair of prescription glasses was found at Stukas Farms (144 Ferry Road in Lewiston) around the end of September. Please call 786-2639 or stop by to claim them. — Susan, Lewiston

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Do you know of any upcoming or future charter bus trips out of Maine by VIP Tours, Northeast Tours, etc.? We used to really enjoy the New York City tours. They do not necessarily have to be “s`enior” tours. I have checked websites, but they seem to deal more with hiring a charter, rather than with bus company planned trips. — No name, no town

ANSWER: According to the VIP Tour & Charter Bus Company website (https://vipchartercoaches.com/events/) there are upcoming tours available. These are mostly for Patriots fans to go to the games at Gillette Stadium, or if you are into the gambling scene, there are trips to Encore Casino at Boston Harbor. Unfortunately, the trips to historic Salem, Massachusetts, are sold out.

Cyr Bus lines (https://johntcyrandsons.com/) is offering some interesting tours this fall. On the schedule is a trip to the Haunted Happenings in Salem toward the end of October, holiday shopping at Boston’s Faneuil Hall, a trip to Williamston, Kentucky, for an encounter with The Ark and the Creation Museum, a stay in The Big Apple just in time for the Thanksgiving Day Macy’s parade, an early December trip to Stowe, Vermont, and another early December offering to see the famous Rockettes in New York City.

Perhaps you’d like to consider traveling to Boston in early December for lunch and an afternoon concert by the Boston Pops to get you into the holiday spirit, or you can pull out all the stops and celebrate New Year’s Eve in grand style in Boston.

Moving ahead into 2022, a weeklong trip to Florida is planned, as well as a trip to Quebec City for Winter Carnival.

All these are offered by Cyr Bus Lines. The number to call for more information is 1-800-244-2335.

I also found Cyr NorthStar Tours (https://johntcyrandsons.com/collette-vacations/#). This company offers tours throughout the world, as well as places close to home such as New York City and Washington, D.C., and New England destinations.

You may want to check with your local senior center to see if they are offering any group trips in the near future. And if you are a AAA or AARP member, check in with them, too. They may have ideas and connections that can help you find the perfect little getaway.

If all else fails, perhaps you could get together a circle of friends, make plans together and pool your money to charter a van or bus to take a tailored vacation or even a day trip. Think outside the box and enjoy yourselves!
