RUMFORD — Voters on Tuesday approved allowing medical marijuana retail stores, registered dispensaries and manufacturing and testing facilities in town.

Deputy Clerk Bev Thorne said voters approved all eight amendments, with none of the amendment tallies being closer than 200 votes

Leo and Jennifer Bolduc, owners of High Brix Cannabis Maine, a medical marijuana company based in Byron, were hoping for a “yes” vote. The Bolducs said they purchased and renovated the former Big Apple store at 1025 Route 2 next to McDonald’s in Rumford for their business. The couple said they have cultivated medical marijuana for 21 years.
