Charles “Richard” Lane

LEWISTON – Charles “Richard” Lane, 90, a resident of Auburn, passed away, Friday, November 5, at Russell Park Manor in Lewiston. He was born May 24, 1931 in Cuba, New York. The son of Alma (Lane) Johns. Charles was raised by Joseph and Florence Herdman. On October 12, 1963 in Georgia, he married Patricia H. Wallace. They enjoyed 47 years together before her passing in on January 4, 2011. Throughout the years he worked as a self-employed mechanic and metal fabricator. He enjoyed gardening, restoring antiques engines and in his later years, wildlife of all kinds. He is survived by his children in Maine, Charles R. Lane, Jr. of Minot, Edith Dostie and husband Francis of Minot, Angelica Bosworth and husband Peter of Blaine, Rebecca Michaud and husband Rick of Poland, and in New York, Henrietta Lane-Payne and husband Gordon, Shirley Caruso and husband Joe, and Raymond Lane. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his feline companion, Frida. He was predeceased by his parents, and his wife Patricia.
