Paul Norman Goulet

SABATTUS – Paul Norman Goulet, 84, of Sabattus, passed away peacefully at home on November 8, 2021, surrounded by family, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. Paul was born in Lewiston in 1937, the youngest of sixteen children, to Ernest and Sylvia Goulet. He was educated in the Lewiston school system, before starting his career in the construction trades. Paul will be remembered for his sense of humor and relentlessly positive attitude. He was a natural storyteller who loved to tell a good joke, and his sense of humor kept us laughing until the very end. Paul loved fishing on Sabattus Lake with his brother-in-law Joe and his sons, Danny and Mike, playing cards with family and friends, and bowling with his wife, Jackie. Paul built their family home in Sabattus where he and Jackie enjoyed nearly 45 happy years together. A talented woodworker, he was also well-known around Sabattus for building and selling picnic tables. Paul’s love of the Red Sox and Patriots was only surpassed by the love he had for his family, whom he adored, and the feeling was mutual. He is survived by his loving wife of 65-years, Jacqueline Goulet, of Sabattus, his children, Daniel Goulet of Sabattus, Michael Goulet of Lewiston, and Denise Buchanan (Andrew) of Auburn; his grandchildren, Justin Goulet of Lewiston, Heather Goulet of Virginia, Crystal Chandonnet (Ben) of New Hampshire, Glenn Stadig of South Carolina, Bridgette Goulet of Lewiston and B.J. Stadig of Connecticut; as well as four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his daughter, Janine Goulet, of Sabattus. Paul is also survived by his life-long friends, Rachel and Leo Cyr of Lewiston, who have always been there to provide immeasurable support to Paul and his family. At Paul’s request, there will be a private service at a later date. Paul will be laid to rest at St. Peters Cemetery in Lewiston, next to his daughter, Janine. Paul’s family wishes to thank the staff at Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice, and Dr. Nicholette Erickson and her staff, especially Julie and Sarah, for the wonderful care provided to Paul.
