SOUTH PARIS – Sylvia Ellen (Kilponen) Raasumaa of South Paris passed away, Nov. 10, 2021. She lived in South Paris with her husband, Tarmo until she became a resident of Rumford Community Home in August 2020. Born Dec. 9, 1929, in Sumner, Maine. The daughter of August and Lena (Piirainen) Kilponen. She was employed by many factories in the local area, as a top stitcher for many, many years. Sylvia most loved spending time with her family and will be remembered for her infectious laugh. She enjoyed spending time reading and baking. There was always a book (or several) nearby and something delicious baking in the oven.

She is survived by Tarmo, her husband of 66 years, two sons, Steven, of Rochester, N.H., and Ted of East Wakefield, N.H., and a daughter Roxane, and her husband Dale Dubay of Old Town, Maine; seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Jack, Eino Rosenberg and Elli Kilponen.

Funeral services will be held at Riverside Cemetery, South Paris, on Friday, November 26, at 1 p.m. Arrangements are under the care of Chandler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 45 Main Street, South Paris. Online condolences may be shared with her family at http://www.chandlerfunerals.com .
