MECHANIC FALLS — A firefighter was injured Wednesday afternoon while battling a blaze in a garage on East Dwinal Street.
Officials said the firefighter was taken to a hospital for a minor injury during a small fire at Lambchops Wrecker Service at 19 East Dwinal St.
Fire crews quickly knocked down the flames inside the garage. A fire official said a worker had been working on a vehicle inside the garage about 1 p.m. when the fire started.
The Mechanic Falls Fire Department was assisted later by an investigator from the Office of the State Fire Marshal to help determine the cause.
