AUBURN — An Auburn restaurant will be closed indefinitely after an SUV crashed into the building early Sunday, according to the eatery’s owner.
At about 5 a.m., a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Sandra Kamuhinda, 20, of Falmouth hit the side of Roy’s All Steak Hamburgers at 5 Washington St. N., according to Deputy Chief Tim Cougle of the Auburn Police Department.
The driver was alone inside the vehicle and not injured, Cougle said.
A statement released by Roy’s said the restaurant will be closed until further notice because the damage was more severe than initially thought.
Kamuhinda was charged with operating under the influence, according to police.
Both the building and vehicle sustained extensive damage.
