LEWISTON – Bernice M. Haynes, 97, passed away Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021 at her daughter Yvonne King’s home in Lewiston. Born in West Peru, Maine on August 12, 1924, Bernice was the daughter of Clevis and Inez (Vaughn) Frost.
Following graduation from Stephens High School in Rumford, she was employed at Diamond Match in Peru until her early retirement in 1986 to care for her mother.
She was a member of the Rumford First Baptist Church and a life member of Mt Sugarloaf Grange. She was also a member of the Robert Shand Post #1641 VFW Auxiliary. Bernice (Bunny) enjoyed travel, dancing, and various music venues, especially hymns and country music.
She was married to the late Donald Haynes of Canton.
Bernice is survived by her daughter Yvonne and husband James King of Lewiston; and two brothers, Bernard Frost of Peru and Clavis Frost.

Graveside services will be held in the spring at the Demeritt Cemetery in Peru. Arrangements are under the direction of the Meader & Son Funeral home 3 Franklin St Rumford, Maine.
