Freezing rain and snow are going to make for a messy Wednesday morning and afternoon across Maine.
Freezing rain and rain will be the dominant types at the coast — which should result in slippery travel on untreated surfaces through the early afternoon. Ice could accumulate as much as a quarter of an inch over inland areas.
The mountains will pick up some snow/sleet accumulations. Precipitation will end during the late afternoon with many communities seeing a return to a little bit of sun.
Cooler temperatures will be the big story Wednesday night through Thursday. Expect full sun on Thursday, but temps will have a hard time getting out of the middle 20s.
