Even the “phone girls” had a Christmas tree this year. Their party took place Wednesday evening, in the Park Street exchange building with sixty-five — as many as could be accommodated — present and enjoying themselves. The feature of the evening was the presentation of a phonograph to the operators thru the dance committee. Proceeds of a dance held on December 16th were appropriated for the gift, and from now on phone operators will hear as much “canned” music as they desire in their rest-room. Amusement was the keynote of the party, most arising from the giving and receiving of gifts.
