When Prue, 13, sees her baby brother being carried away by crows, she’s terrified! She chases after them on her bike. Off the crows go into the Impassable Wilderness. Prue’s classmate, Curtis, tries to stop her from going but it’s no use! Despite the rumors of the dangers, horrors, and unknowns of the Impassable Wilderness, Prue and Curtis set out to rescue her baby brother.

Along the way, the Coyote Soldiers swoop down, taking Curtis captive. Prue meets many magical creatures and becomes good friends with the Crown Prince Owl Rex. There’s more than one problem, though. Not only is her baby brother gone far, far, far away in the Impassable Wilderness, but now Curtis is missing too! Prue learns the Coyote Soldiers take orders from someone very, very mean who is connected to the Crown Prince Own Rex, Curtis, and most of importantly, her baby brother.

Written by Colin Meloy, the lead singer of the indie-rock band, The Decemberists, and illustrated by his wife, Carson Ellis, this magical novel is sure to take you on an adventure!
