Donald Vachon
LEWISTON – Donald Vachon passed away peacefully Jan. 11, 2022. Born in Lewiston on March 19, 1938, he was the son of Alfred and Josephine Vachon.
Donald attended Lewiston Schools, joined the Army and spent three years in France. He married his wife Doris Caron in 1960 and they were together for 61 years.
He was an avid outdoor person. Loved hunting and fishing, He also coached and played hockey.
He started Don’s Sport Shop in Lewiston and moved the business to Medway.
He is survived by his wife Doris; sons, David, Thomas and his wife Angie, Steven and his wife Kristina; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother Harold, sisters Fleurette, Theresa, Paulette, Charlotte, Frances, Monique and Fernande.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 20 from 10-11 a.m. at Funeral Alternatives, 25 Tampa Street, Lewiston where a Memorial Service will follow at 11 a.m.
