To the Editor:

On Saturday, February 12, there will be a Republican Caucus for the Oxford County Towns of Oxford, Buckfield, Otisfield, Paris, West Paris, Sumner, Norway, Waterford, Albany, Greenwood, and Hebron at the Paris Fire Department, 137 Western Ave in Paris. Doors open at 8 a.m. and the caucus starts at 9 a.m. All registered Republicans and those who register Republican can participate in the caucus event.

This body of Republicans will elect representatives to the Maine State Convention in the Augusta Civic Center on Friday and Saturday, April 29 and 30. Each town will be eligible to elect or select voting delegates and non-voting alternatives. Alternates could become voting members if the delegate they represent is unable to attend the convention. At the convention, we will be discussing and voting on amendments to our bylaws and the planks to our state platform.

The Caucus on Feb. 12 could run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. as all Republican candidates will have an opportunity to address this gathering.

On Friday night, April 29, there will be a convention dinner at the Civic Center. Meet old friends, make new friends, and listen to current and future state senators, representatives, and/or governors.

This is a broad overview of the caucus and convention. If you have any questions, call Peter Laverdiere at 207-539-4347 or leave a message with name, phone number, and best time to reach you.
