JAY — Jace Bessey threw in three 3-pointers, went 4-for-4 at the charity stripe and chalked up 21 points to lead undefeated Spruce Mountain past Mountain Valley with a 60-40 victory in a Mountain Valley Conference boys basketball game on Monday night.

The Phoenix (15-0) opened up their lead with 18 points in the third quarter. Camden Phillips turned in a 17-point performance for Spruce.

Zack New (15 points) and Airick Richard (12) combined for 27 points for the Falcons (6-16).

LISBON 54, CARRABEC:35: Levi Tibbetts scored 16 points to pace the Greyhounds (14-2) past the Cobras (8-9) in a MVC contest in Lisbon.

Mason Booker added 14 points in the win and Caden Boone finished with 11.

Luke Carey led Carrabec with 16 points and Danny Handley had 14 points.

WINTHROP 50, MADISON 40: Andrew Foster led the Ramblers (13-3) with 12 points in the win over the Bulldogs (8-7) in Madison.

Brayden Stubbert chipped in 10 points in the win.

Thomas Dean had a game-high 17 points for Madison.

MORSE 41, MT. BLUE 38: Gabe Aucoin scored 18 points and teammate Sawyer Stead added 11 in the Shipbuilders’ (6-8) victory over the Cougars (7-9) in Bath.

Morse jumped out to 27-16 lead at halftime and held on the rest of the way.

Chandler Briggs and Evans Sterling each scored 10 points for Mt. Blue.

MADISON 41, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 26: Hailey Paquette had 19 points to lead the Bulldogs (9-7) to a win over the Falcons (6-9) in Rumford.

Raegan Cowan chipped in eight points in the win.

Brooke Brown led Mountain Valley with seven points.

WINTHROP 57, KENTS HILL 23: Maddie Perkins’ 16 points paced the Ramblers (10-3) in a win over the Huskies (7-4) in Winthrop.

Madeline Wagner chipped in 14 points in  and Lydia Rice had 10 points for Winthrop.

Rose Jenkins led Kents Hill with 11 points.

BOOTHBAY 46, BUCKFIELD 28: Katheryn Hibbard and Jacelyn Crocker each had 10 points in the Seahawks’ (3-7) win over the Bucks (1-12) in Buckfield.

Hailey Lichfield had 10 points for Buckfield.

MT. BLUE 48, MESSALONSKEE 39: Eva Stevens scored a team-high 16 points for the Cougars (6-10) in their win over the Eagles (4-12) in Farmington.

Katelyn Daggett chipped in 10 points for Mt. Blue.

Brenna Doran scored a game-high 18 points for Messalonskee.
