Elite Airways will start offering nonstop flights between Portland and two Florida locations next month.

The Portland-based carrier said it intends to offer weekly flights between Portland International Jetport and St. Augustine in northeast Florida for $199 each way. It also will resume nonstop service from Portland to Vero Beach in east central Florida for $239 each way. Both routes begin March 26.

Elite suspended its Vero Beach flights last spring because the Florida community’s airport was renovating its runway. St. Augustine is a new route for the airline.

“Elite Airways is expanding commercial air service in St. Augustine with a new nonstop to our hometown of Portland, Maine,” John Pearsall, president of Elite Airways, said in a statement.
