William H. Lagerson
LEWISTON – William H. Lagerson died in the early morning hours of February 14, 2022, from a brief illness. He was born on November 22, 1938 in Lewiston, Maine to Harold and Ella Herling Lagerson. Upon the death of his mother in 1941, he was raised by Harold and his second wife Margaret Pratt Lagerson. They lived in Maryland for a brief time before settling in Wilton.Bill graduated from Wilton Academy and entered the US Navy, traveling the world while honorably serving his country. In the early 60’s he began working at Paragon Glass Works in Lewiston, founded by his father-in-law Angelo Paione. He eventually became co-owner, and then sole owner of the company until its closing in 2004.He married the love of his life, June Paione, at St. Joseph’s Church on May 25, 1963. Together they raised five children in Lewiston. Throughout his life, he was an avid snowmobiler, golfer, bowler, and race car enthusiast. After retirement, he wintered in Arizona and enjoyed life to the fullest with his wife by his side. He was a parishioner of Prince of Peace Parish in Lewiston and was a longtime member of Martindale Country Club. Bill was a wonderful husband and father and was very generous to those close to him. He will be greatly missed by his family and will remain in our hearts forever.He is survived by his wife June and their children, Sr. Shirley Ann, SV, of the Sisters of Life of New York, Lauren Moody (Wayne) of Auburn, Nancy Lagerson of Lewiston, James Lagerson (Brenda) of Greene, and Marcy Lagerson of Auburn; his grandchildren, Mark, Michael, and Bryce Moody, Hope and Nicholas Bowen, McKenzie Lagerson; his two great grandsons Jackson and Oliver Moody; and his three sisters, June Benner of Steep Falls, Dr. Joanne Lagerson of Portland, and Jean Johnston of Houlton. He was predeceased by his parents and his infant sister Janet.Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 21, 2022 at 11:00am at Holy Family Church in Lewiston. Interment in the spring at Mt. Hope Cemetery.Funeral Arrangements under the direction of the Albert & Burpee Funeral Home.
