Recently the Auburn-Lewiston YMCA held its Biddy basketball award Ceremonies for the over 170 participants in the 2021-2022 Co-Ed Biddy basketball program (grades 1-6). The YMCA gives two players from each team an award: One for being the “Most Improved” player on the team, and the second is a “Team Award” given to a player demonstrating characteristics that include having a positive attitude, giving good effort, is coachable, a good teammate, respectful of others, and has fun playing the game of basketball!
The YMCA would like to acknowledge the kids, parents, volunteers, and sponsors that make this program such a success.

The Y also presents a “Divisional Sportsmanship Award” to one boy and one girl in each division of the program. This award is given to the players who demonstrate unselfish play, are good teammates, have a positive attitude, show respect for players, coaches, and officials, and overall outstanding sportsmanship. Every coach in each division votes on three boys and three girls whom they think deserve the award. The award winners are the players who receive the most votes from the coaches in their respective division. Just being nominated for the award and being thought of in this context is quite an accomplishment. So, we would like to acknowledge all of the nominees as well as the winners of the Sportsmanship Award in each division.
