OWINGS MILL, Md. — Tanyr Krummenacher, Bayard Demallie, and Brock Gonzalez each recorded hit tricks for Amherst as the Mammoths received goals from 14 different players and easily handled Bates 22-10 in a NESCAC men’s lacrosse game Friday afternoon.

Alex Giacobbe and PJ Clementi tossed in a pair of goals apiece for the Mammoths (2-1, 2-1 NESCAC).

Malcolm Klingbeil, Robert Purcifull and Wil Masterson led the way for the Bobcats (0-5, 0-3) with two goals each.

UMAINE-FARMINGTON SWEPT IN DOUBLEHEADER
GAME 1: RWU 20, UMF 3: The Hawks scored five runs apiece in each of the first three innings to fly past the Beavers in Davenport, Florida.

Brandon Jenkins homered in each of the first two innings for Roger Williams, and Justin Garcia allowed two earned runs and three hits while striking out nine in five innings to earn the win.

Ky Morris took the loss for University of Maine at Farmington after starting and pitching the first two innings. Oxford Hills grad Hunter LaBossiere had two hits and an RBI, and Riley Bartell and Derek Gendreau also collected RBIs.

GAME 2: RWU 4, UMF 1: Roger Williams plated three runs in the second and UMaine-Farmington avoided the shutout with a run in the top of the seventh.

Kyle Schaefer pitched five shutout innings for the Hawks (9-0), scattering three hits and a walk while striking out six. Matt Massaro’s two-run single in the second was the big hit of the game for Roger Williams.

Lucas Tuttle pitched five innings of two-hit ball but suffered the loss for the Beavers (0-5). Gendreau walked in Tyler Lambert for UMaine-Farmington’s lone run. Lambert and LaBossiere each collected a pair of hits and Oxford Hills grad Jonny Pruett had the other Beavers hit.

MAINE 11, BINGHAMTON 7: Quinn McDaniel went 3 for 4, including a three-run homer in the second inning, and Scout Knotts and Jake Rainess added back-to-back solo shots in the fifth as Maine (4-11) won its America East conference opener against Binghamton (3-11) in Vestal, New York.

Knotts and Rainess each drove in two runs, helping Maine build a 10-0 lead. Jordan Schulefand scored three runs.

Maine’s Trevor Labonte pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on six hits while fanning eight and walking one.

SOUTHERN MAINE 15, OSWEGO STATE 5: Tom Vesosky’s three-run double highlighted a tiebreaking seven-run rally in the fifth inning as the Huskies (3-6) rolled past the Lakers (9-3) at Auburndale, Florida.

Vesosky finished with four RBI. Zach Mooers and Jason Komulainen each had three hits for USM. Oxford Hills grad Janek Luksza had two hits and three RBIs.

Bryce Afthim went the distance on the mound, along seven hits with six strikeouts and two walks.

BRANDEIS 13, ST. JOSEPH’S 6: Mike Khoury went 4 for 4 with a pair of home runs, and the Judges (3-2) scored seven runs in the third innings to pull away from the Monks (5-4) at Waltham, Massachusetts.

Drew Healy had a double and a solo homer for St. Joseph’s.

BOWDOIN 10, COLBY-SAWYER 3: The Polar Bears (4-5) broke open a close game with five runs in the fifth inning against the Chargers (3-8) at Auburndale, Florida.

Ben McKenzie was 3 for 5 with three RBI for Bowdoin. Christian O’Brien and Robbie Sarmanian each had two hits, and Jack Mullen allowed just two runs and five hits in seven innings while striking out seven.

SOFTBALL
UMAINE-FARMINGTON DROPS TWO IN SHORT ORDER
SUNY CORTLAND 8, UMF 0, 5 INN.: A five-run second inning broke open the game for Dragons (4-5), who breezed to the win in an abbreviated game in Leesburg, Florida.

Alyssa Finno and Lizzy Byers each had a pair of hits for SUNY Cortland, and Karlee Weeden scattered three hits and a walk in five innings for the win.

Mackenzie Dyer had two of the Beavers’ hits. Carleigh Schievink allowed 11 hits in four innings in taking the loss.

FSU 14, UMF 1, 5 INN.: Framingham State scored seven runs in the third and four in the fourth to pull away from University of Maine at Farmington in Leesburg, Florida.

Keely Scotia had two hits and two RBIs for the Rams (5-5). Caroline Hughes pitched two hitless innings to start and earned the win.

Christa Allen singled in Makayla Wilson for the Beavers’ (1-3) lone run in the bottom of the fourth. Schievink started the second game, as well, and pitched into the fifth. Olivia Paradis pitched the final 1/3 of an inning.

UMAINE DROPS TWO IN UTAH
IDAHO STATE 13, MAINE 6: The Bengals (13-6) scored eight runs in the sixth inning to rally past the Black Bears (2-16) at Orem, Utah.

Gabby Papuska had a two-run homer during a five-run fifth inning for Maine. Izzy Nieblas added a solo homer.

UTAH STATE 9, MAINE 7, 8 INN.: Lexi Orozco’s bases-clearing double in the bottom of the eighth inning gave Utah State (11-13) a 9-7 win over Maine (2-17) at Orem, Utah.

Izzy Nieblas went 3 for 5 with a two-run homer for Maine. Jasmine Gray was 4 for 5 and scored three runs, including a go-ahead run in the top of the eighth.

USM SPLITS PAIR OF GAMES
CARROLL 4, SOUTHERN MAINE 1: The Pioneers (7-4) took the lead on a two-run homer by Kaylee Learman in the fifth inning and downed the Huskies (2-6) at Clermont, Florida.

Kaitlyn Nelson scored USM’s run on a throwing error in the fourth inning. Lauren Merrill took the loss after pitching the first six innings in the circle, and she and former Oxford Hills teammate Madison Day each had one of USM’s six hits.

SOUTHERN MAINE 10, EDGEWOOD 1: Madison Day’s two-run double highlighted a four-run first inning for the Huskies (3-6) in a win over the Eagles (7-8) at Clermont, Florida.

Hannah Shields and Rona Scott also drove in two runs apiece, and Kaitlyn Nelson went 3 for 4 with three runs scored.

Belle Snyder pitched a five-hitter with three strikeouts and one walk.

UNE SPLITS
UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 9, LAWRENCE 7: Abby Miner drove in two runs, Becca Dumont and Taylor Depot each had two hits and two runs scored, and the Nor’easters (3-6) survived a five-run ninth-inning rally by Lawrence (0-9) in Clermont, Florida.

RIPON 9, UNE 4: The Ravens (2-14) scored four runs in the first inning on their way to a win over the Nor’easters (3-7) at Clermont, Florida.

Micaela Encarnacion had a double and a solo home run to lead Ripon’s 12-hit attack.

Abby Miner went 3 for 4, including a solo home run, for UNE.
