NEWTON, Mass. — Two Lasell University students, Alexis Grant of Athens and Sydney Veilleux of Skowhegan, were among 50 students from the university’s School of Fashion to travel to the Coterie Spring trade show at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City.
Grant attended the show to view apparel lines from vendors around the United States, and witness firsthand how buyers select products for their stores and e-commerce sites.
Grant also attended the show on behalf of Lasell’s student-run boutique, studio1851, to learn about merchandising and consider new vendors and products to source for the on-campus store.
Veilleux worked as an intern for the Susan Bonomo showroom at Coterie.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
