AUBURN — Simon Hall, a senior at Edward Little High School, has been selected as a National Merit Finalist.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships.

Hall was recognized last September as a semifinalist because of his high PSAT scores. Semifinalists are the highest-scoring entrants in each state, according to a news release from his school.

To be considered for a National Merit Scholarship, semifinalists must advance to finalist standing in the competition by meeting high academic standards and all other specific requirements.

Hall plans to attend Middlebury College in the fall. He is the son of Joseph Hall and Melissa Sundell of Auburn.
