I am a concerned citizen of Auburn, and I agree with Lewiston Mayor Carl Sheline that Lake Auburn is a shared responsibility of both Lewiston and Auburn as the main source of drinking water.

With that said, cooperation between both municipalities is a given. Why spend millions for filtration systems when we are all feeling the pinch of higher costs. I agree with the mayor of Lewiston to make 100% sure of what the consequences are of this rezoning around the watershed.

We have the outlet in East Auburn for swimming; the law against swimming in the lake should be kept.

More houses means more pavement for runoff possibly going to the lake, and people using fertilizer.

I know that housing is an issue; why not rehab existing houses for people?

I sound like I’m rambling but I need to make myself heard. I care about that lake as it’s something I see every day.
