St. Peter’s School in Lewiston has been nominated as one of the 25 most innovative Catholic schools by Today’s Catholic Teacher. The national periodical is celebrating its 25th year and wanted to celebrate outstanding school practice. St. Peter’s is one of more than 8,500 Catholic schools and was the only school in Maine to be nominated. St. Peter’s will be featured in the May issue of Today’s Catholic Teacher along with the other schools receiving the award. Bishop Joseph J. Gerry, OSB, will visit St. Peter’s School Thursday afternoon to present the award to the Student Council. He will also visit the classrooms. This is the first such visit Bishop Gerry has made to St. Peter’s in several years.
