PARIS — Gigi DeVivo drove in Liz Dieterich with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to lift Oxford Hills past Lewiston 7-6 in KVAC softball action Thursday at Gouin Athletic Complex.

Lewiston pitcher Brooklyn Mynahan was nearly able to get out of the bases-loaded, no-out jam in the seventh after inducing a double-play lineout, but the freshman DeVivo was able to reach on her grounder to the left side of the infield to win the game.

Mynahan was one of three Lewiston batters, along with catcher Morgan Brown and Isabella Miller, to record two singles. The Blue Devils (1-3) outhit the Vikings 10-7.

Miah Gallan and Tristen Derenburger had two hits apiece for Oxford Hills (5-0), with Derenburger’s second single of the game loading the bases in the seventh. Maddy Miller struck out four batters and earned the win in the circle for the Vikings.

EDWARD LITTLE 18, MT. BLUE 8 (5 INN.): Alexis Kelsea went 4 for 4 with four runs scored to help pace a Red Eddies (2-5) offense that scored in each inning of a five-inning win over the Cougars (0-6) in Auburn.
Edward Little broke a 9-8 game open with a seven-run bottom of the fourth.

Tiana Avila had three hits for the Red Eddies, and Leah Thibodeau, Emily Horton, Izzy Jalbert and Erin Cowie each had two. Thibodeau earned the win on the mound and Maddy Scott earned the save after taking over in the top of the fourth.

Eva Stevens had three hits for Mt. Blue, including a double, and Katie Yeaton also collected three hits.

GARDINER 7, LEAVITT 1: The Tigers (5-0) took advantage of a big sixth inning to put away the Hornets (3-4) in Gardiner.

A five-run sixth inning was more than enough for Gardiner to put Leavitt away on Thursday.

Lainey Cooley took the win from the circle while catcher Devin Clary hit a single.

Abby Albert and Sam Withee both hit two singles for Leavitt.

MADISON 11, WINTHROP 0: Brooke McKenney threw a perfect game, striking out 16, to lead Madison past Winthrop 11-0 in Mountain Valley Conference softball action in Winthrop.

McKenney added a two-run single for Madison (5-0) while Lilly Levesque, Landyn Landry, Hailey Paquet and Gilly Bonito each had RBI singles.

Winthrop falls to 3-2.

HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL
EDWARD LITTLE 8, MT. BLUE 4: The Red Eddies (3-4) scored early and often to take down the Cougars (3-3) in Auburn.

Drew Smith pitched six innings, giving up three hits and striking out nine batters for Edward Little in the win. TJ Kramarz pitched in the seventh inning, shutting the door on Mt. Blue with three strikeouts.

Patrick Anthoine notched two doubles in the win, which saw the Red Eddies score two runs apiece in the first and second innings, three in the third and their final run in the fourth

Evan Downing took the loss on the mound and Nolan Leso had a double for Mt. Blue, which scored all of its runs in the top of the fourth.

OXFORD HILLS 10, LEWISTON 0: Eli Soehren stifled the Blue Devils’ (2-3) offense to lead the Vikings (5-1) to a victory in Paris.

Soehren pitched six innings and allowed only three hits while striking out eight batters. Andrew Merrill, Kolby Brown and Isaiah Oufiero all notched three hits for Oxford Hills, while Matt Doucette tallied a pair.

The Vikings pulled away in the sixth inning, plating six runs to a 4-0 lead into a 10-0 advantage.

Tanner Anctil led Lewiston with two hits.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 10, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 0 (6 INN.): Isaac Parker went 4 for 4 with two RBIs and two stolen bases as the Phoenix (4-2) downed the Falcons (0-6) in six innings in Livermore Falls.

Max Labonte took a no-hitter into the third inning before Airick Richard collected Mountain Valley’s lone hit. Labonte pitched five innings for the win.

Elie Timler added two hits for Spruce Mountain, which scored four runs in the fifth and four more in the six to reach the 10-run mercy rule.

FREEPORT 6, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Blaine Cockburn struck out 10 and combined with Gus Wing on a three-hitter as the Falcons (6-1) shut out the Patriots (3-4) in Freeport.

Aaron Converse went 3 for 3 with a double and two RBI.

Colin Mulry had two hits for Gray-New Gloucester.

GIRLS LACROSSE
OXFORD HILLS 10, CONY 6: Celia Melanson scored four goals to lift the Vikings to a KVAC victory in Augusta.

McKinley Soehren and Kelsey Bennett each scored twice for Oxford Hills (3-2), while Saige Winslow and Gracie Hart had goals and Zaya Vollmar made 10 saves.

Azabell Assaf scored three goals for the Rams (3-1), while Raegan Bechard had two and Andrea Richardson had one. Madison Chavarie made seven saves.

FREEPORT 15, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER/POLAND 3: Maddie Knight, Kate Tracy and Savannah Tracy all posted three goals as the Falcons (3-1) cruised past the 26ers (1-3) in Gray.

Lana DiRusso, Megan Driscoll and Skylar McDonald registered two goals each for Freeport.

Ellie Steele led GNG/Poland with two goals while Makenna Powell had one. Malia Lewis stopped eight shots in net.
