WILTON — Freedom Academy announced the appointment of Rebecca Richard as the new owner and chief administrator. An entrepreneur and longtime home-school parent, Richard succeeds the founder of Freedom Academy, according to a release from the school.
Freedom Academy is a private school for home-schoolers. In Maine, this is called “option 2.” This allows parents to still be the teachers at home. Freedom Academy takes care of all enrollment paperwork. Each “classroom” is each family’s home.
Enrollment opens mid-May.
Each child will receive a school I.D. and the parents get a teacher’s I.D. card. The academy helps with any issues with filing notifications. It offers support with curriculum choices, field trips and any law changes.
