SOUTH PARIS — An in-person, hands-on workshop about soil health is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, 9 Olson Road.

The workshop is offered by The University of Maine Cooperative Extension and the Oxford County Soil and Water Conservation District.

Rebecca Long, a sustainable agriculture and horticulture professional with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, will present “Be Your Own Soil Detective.”

Participants can learn how to assess their soil and make any necessary improvements to maximize soil health and plant productivity.

Registration is required by Tuesday, May 17, and a sliding scale program fee of $15 per family is optional.
