When downtown Rumford’s business strip looks like a comic strip, you know things have gone “Krazy.” That’ll happen this week, Thursday through Saturday when the River Valley Merchants Association sponsors its annual “Krazy Daze” sidewalk sale, a kind of goofy warmup for the summer’s festivals. The “Daze” this year is “Superheroes and Supervillains.” Faster than a speeding bullet downtown employees will discard their secret identities as sales clerks, bank tellers and waitresses and emerge as the legends they truly are. Judges will pick the best costumes, the most original costume and the best group costume at a breakfast Thursday morning at 8 am at the mini mall on Congress Street. Merchants are encouraged to stay in character throughout the three days.

The material used in Looking Back is produced exactly as it originally appeared although misspellings and errors may be corrected.
