WALES — Oak Hill (6-4) used strong pitching and timely hitting to dispatch Dirigo (5-5) with a 6-4 victory in a Mountain Valley Conference softball game on Tuesday.
Winning pitcher Kelsey Young kept Dirigo at bay with seven strikeouts. Young (two RBIs), Sierra Lane, Mia Valliere, Aubrey MacElhaney and Carli Austin each had two hits.
For Dirigo, losing pitcher Grace Robbins and Abby Steven each had a pair of hits, and Alexa Perrault homered.
GIRLS LACROSSE
MT. BLUE 15, WINSLOW 9: Eryn Parlin scored four goals and collected an assist as the Cougars (4-3) climbed past the Raiders (3-7) in Farmington
Chloe Roberts and Alissa Butterfield each scored three goals and Emma Dunn and Maya Kellett had two a piece for Mt. Blue. Talia Kidder also picked up goal.
By the end of the first half, the Cougars were leading 7-3. Sage Clukey scored six goals for Winslow.
BASEBALL
CARRABEC 4, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 3: The Cobras (2-7) used just three hits and worked around their seven errors to slip past the Falcons (2-9) in Rumford.
Luke Carey got the win on the mound for Carrabec. Mountain Valley’s Tyler Warren was tagged with the loss.
