To the Editor:
Once again, the Museums of the Bethel Historical Society will hold their summer children’s program, “Mornings at the Museum” every Thursday in July. Times will still be from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and children must be accompanied by an adult.
Our theme this year is “Music and Dancing” and we will have dedicated time for this at 10:30-11:30 a.m. every Thursday, but of course our traditional activities will also be ongoing – Mason House tours with some new activities inside, a sewing/craft project, outdoor games, sidewalk chalk art, tours of our new Bethel Area Exhibit, plus this year’s art will be self-portraits with children choosing a time-period hat for their portrait. All of this with wonderful music in the courtyard.
The sessions will be July 7, 14, 21, 28 and children can participate in all or a few, but we would appreciate families contacting MBHS (207-824-2908) to give us an idea of anticipated numbers or if you have questions. Also, if your child needs accommodations, please let us know and we will do our best to make it work for them. See you in July.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
