Nancy Patricia Hebert
SOUTH PARIS – Nancy Patricia Hebert of South Paris, passed away on May 21, 2022, at Maine Veterans Home with her daughter by her side. She has now been reunited with her soulmate. She was born the eldest child of Salvi and Grace ( Oram) Ventullo in Lynn, Mass., on Aug. 12, 1933. She graduated from Saugus High School in 1952 and joined the USAF. She was stationed at Hanscom Air Base in Bedford, Mass., where she met and didn’t immediately fall in love with Joseph “Baldy” Hebert. (It took two dates). They married on May 13, 1956, and made their home in Rumford until his death on June 3, 1992. Nancy enjoyed her trips to Florida in the winter months, as well as having the opportunity twice to go to Hawaii where her son was stationed. She shared her recipes with her family- she taught her granddaughters how to make her spaghetti sauce and meatballs. She enjoyed her roses and gardening, knitting and crocheting, and working on jigsaw puzzles. Her children will remember her hollering for us at lunchtime from the porch. We could hear her a quarter mile away at the ball field. Nancy worked over the years for Mammoth Mart, Avon, Department of Health and Human Services, and as a clerk for the Town of Rumford. She also spent time both in Rumford and Englewood, Fla., with her special friend, Bert Theriault. While there, she worked for Beall’s Department Store. Nancy is survived by her four children, John (Martha) Hebert of Chester, Va., Sandra (Peter) Gautreau of Rumford, Kathryn (Lester) Langlais of Salisbury, N.C., and Richard (Stephanie) Hebert of Turin, N.Y.; grandchildren, Timothy (Heather), Christopher (Kristy), and Kevin (Katie) Gallant, Joseph (Mary Murphy), and Joshua Langlais, Ashley Hebert, Waverly (Max) Sullivan, Grace and Mallory Hebert, Elizabeth (Isaac) Ledesma, Clinton (Ampha) and Sarah Monroe, Graham (Sara) Terrell, and Kara (Ike) Emejuru, and 16 great grandchildren. She’s also survived by her sisters Donna Pearce of Keene, N.H., and Barbara Mileti of Goshen, N.H., and brothers Donald Ventullo (Eileen) of Tewksbury, Mass., and Michael Ventullo ( Marjorie) of Saugus, Mass, sister-in-law Janet Ventullo of Florida, sister-in-law Eva Morton (Doug) of Dayton, Ohio; her ‘other daughter’ Debbie Dorr of Rumford, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, two brothers Kenneth and Thomas Ventullo and her companion Bert Theriault. The family would like to thank Maine Veterans Home for the stellar care that was given to our Mom. She made many new friends in the staff while there. The compassion and respect that was shown to her and her family has touched us. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 12, 2022 at the St. John’s Cemetery in Rumford. Arrangements are with S G Thibault, 250 Penobscot Street, Rumford. Online condolences may be shared with her family at http://www.sgthibaultfuneralhome.com.
