BETHEL — On Friday, May 13, and Thursday, May 26, Stephen Smith, Rotary Club Secretary, presented world globes to the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders at the Woodstock Elementary School and Crescent Park Elementary School. Smith said that the students were a delight to interact with and very appreciative of the gift.
Funding for the gift of globes came from donors in the SAD44 community who wanted to do something for young people that might help them learn and remember the many aspects of residing on this earth. The donors wished to remain anonymous and asked the Bethel Rotary Club, which shares their goal, to present the globes to the students on their behalf.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
