Aline R. Poirier

MINOT – Aline R. Poirier, 95, of Minot, passed away Friday evening June 3, 2022 at her home with family at her side. She was born in Lewiston on August 18, 1926, one of 12 children born to Lorenzo and Dora (Jutras) Cloutier, was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community.

On April 10, 1948 she married Raymond M. Poirier and together they settled in Sabattus to start their family. Raymond predeceased her on May 19, 1996 following 48 years of marriage.

Aline spent the majority of her working years as a waitress. She first worked at the former Bert’s Restaurant in Lewiston until it’s closing and then worked many years at Uncle Moe’s Diner in Sabattus until her retirement.

Aline was a past member of the Sabattus Senior Citizens and among her favorite enjoyments were knitting, crocheting, counted cross-stitch, needlepoint and playing Dice. In her younger years she enjoyed camping and always enjoyed quality time get-togethers with family, especially the holidays. She was a loving, devoted and hardworking wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

She leaves behind her four children Larry Poirier of Minot and his companion Kathryn Packard of South Paris, Gerard Poirier of Chester, N.H., Linda Schembri and husband Denis of Wallace, N.C. and Daniel Poirier and wife Gloria of Minot; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; four sisters Georgette Turcotte of Greene, Theresa Bernier of Lewiston, Vada Wright, also of Lewiston and Lorraine Packard of Sabattus; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law Janice Cloutier of Durham. Aline was predeceased by her husband, three brothers and four sisters.

A graveside service will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery Monday June 13 at 11 a.m.
