DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Edward Little High School Class of 1962 will hold its 60-year class reunion at the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn on July 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. If you have any questions, please call Diane Freve at 576-0392. — Diane, no town

ANSWER: Congratulations to all those who will be celebrating this milestone. Have fun!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: We are in the process of planning the annual Lisbon Golden Reunion. It is for all alumni of Lisbon High School or Lisbon Falls High School who graduated 50 or more years ago. In 2022, we will welcome the Class of 1972. Last year, we had graduates attend from the classes of 1946 through 1971.

The reunion will be held at the Ramada Inn on Aug. 20 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The festivities will include a buffet lunch, a DJ with dancing, a raffle to benefit our scholarships, and plenty of time for socializing. Last year, our raffle, coupled with generous donations, enabled us to award $1,500 scholarships to four Lisbon High School graduating seniors.

About 900 invitations will go out next week, but unfortunately, we have been able to find the addresses of only 12 members of the Class of ’72. If you are or know of a member of this class (or any previous one and have never received an invitation) please contact Caroline Poirier by email at caroline04011@gmail.com or by text at 603-490-6630. — No name, no town

ANSWER: Calling all Lisbon High School Class of 1972 grads! Don’t miss out on this gathering. It sounds great! I like the idea of having a big reunion like this.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Could you please reprint the solution and/or formula for the DIY lotion that helps take the itch and sting out of brown tail moth rash? — Corinne, no town

ANSWER: There are prescription sprays and lotions that work really well, as well as some fairly new-to-the-market, over-the-counter remedies, but if you can’t get those right away or can’t afford them, cool baths with the addition of baking soda followed with an application of calamine lotion will help relieve the pain and itchiness.

There is also this recipe for a homemade version of the prescription-strength lotion. Combine equal parts hydrocortisone 1% (e.g. Cortizone 10), diphenhydramine hydrochloride 2% and zinc acetate 0.1% (e.g. Extra Strength Benadryl), benzocaine 20% (e.g. Lanacane), and pramoxine hydrochloride 1% (e.g. Itch-X). Although not as strong as a pharmaceutically compounded lotion, it will provide some relief. I hope you feel better soon! That rash is no joke!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I was discussing the lack of rain with my neighbor and he said it was already really dry. Are we going to be having another dry summer? — No name, Lewiston

ANSWER: I’m not a qualified weather person. According to the Farmers’ Almanac, Maine will be dryer than normal. You can get more information and follow through the season at this website: https://www.drought.gov/states/maine#current-conditions. I suggest you all prepare yourselves and be especially mindful of water usage if you have a well. And let’s not complain when it rains.
