DEAR SUN SPOTS: I found a well-worn gold-plated narrow band ring, roughly a size 7, with an impression of a title on it. It was in a sidewalk divot in front of the closed St. Martin de Porres’ Bargain Basket on College Street in Lewiston. My telephone number is 207-713-3826. Please leave a message and I will return your call. —No name, no town

ANSWER: Thank you for the detailed description. That always helps. We have had great success with helping readers find lost items, old friends, classmates and more. I hope this story has a happy ending. Let us know.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Why isn’t Sun Spots on sunjournal.com/website and only in the e-edition?—Fred, no town

ANSWER: I am not sure what you mean, but let me help you find the column at www.sunjournal.com. When the site opens, you will see a black banner across the top. Click once on “Lifestyles,” and Sun Spots is the second tab down on the left. Click once and that will bring you to Sun Spots. You will be able to scroll down and read that day’s Sun Spots, plus all the archived columns for that week, that month, the year and all the way back to June 2009. I think it is really cool, and I hope you will, too. Especially these days, we need as much Sun Spots in our lives as possible so dig in and enjoy.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have heard rumor: Is there a Market Basket in Bath? I have been to Bath many times and have never seen or heard of a Market Basket there. However, I have seen on television and in newspapers that the store is coming to Topsham in the near future. Please let me know. I love your column and read it first thing in the morning.—No name, no town

ANSWER: First of all, thank you for being a loyal reader.

There are only two Market Basket stores in the state at this time: The closest (and newest) is at 90 Rock Row in Westbrook. The other is at 220 Mariner Way in Biddeford. I sometimes carpool to the Westbrook location with a friend and by sharing the cost of gas (OUCH!), I think it is worth the commute, and we always have fun together.

The last time I saw any news about Market Basket coming to Topsham was in January. These things take time, and I do not get excited about them until I actually see something happening, but a Market Basket in our readership area would be great.

As far as a Market Basket in Bath goes, there is no news about that. I think it would be wonderful to have one off Route One to serve customers who live in Bath and north. I wonder if the person who told you a Market Basket is in or near the City of Ships was thinking of Brackett’s, a wonderful hometown grocery store.
