NORWAY — Young actors are still needed to take part in Under a Yellow Star – Diaries of Children of the Holocaust. There are approximately 30 roles for young people ages 7 through high school and a couple of adults. Experience is not necessary, just a willingness to work hard and as a team. About 14 parts still need to be filled. Some are big and some are small. Anyone willing to take part please either contact us or come to the OHCHS auditorium Friday, June 24, at 6 p.m. Bring your friends!

This play was cast and ready for performance in 2020 when COVID-19 shut it down. Those cast members who were already in the play are asked to return. There are, however, some openings  for young people to fill the roles for former cast members who can no longer participate.

Rehearsals will be Wednesdays and Fridays from 6-8 p.m. at the high school throughout the summer with public performances scheduled for Oct. 21-23. This is a peer-education piece and will also be performed for students in either October or November during the school day.

Anyone in the Bethel and Oxford Hills area can sign up including home-schooled students. The only requirement is the ability to read and the willingness to memorize the part, attend rehearsals and all performances. Parents are encouraged to help out or perform! We will work around vacation plans.

This production is sponsored by SAD-17, with grants from the Maine Humanities Council and Norway Savings Bank, and donations from Rotary Club of Oxford Hills, Sun Media Group and private individuals.
