A Mexico man was injured after the van he was driving ran off the road, according to a report from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

At 2:45 p.m. Friday, Sgt. Jacob Richards responded to a report of a single vehicle accident on U.S. Route 2 in Carthage.

Sean McKenzie, 50, of Mexico was driving west when the 2005 Chevy Astro van crossed the centerline and ran off the opposite side of the road, according to the report.

McKenzie was transported by Med-Care Ambulance out of Rumford to Central Maine Medical Center to be treated for injuries.

East Dixfield and Wilton fire departments assisted at the scene. Hilltop Collision Center in Jay removed the vehicle.

The accident remains under investigation.
