OXFORD — Fire crews made quick work of a brush fire sparked when a side-by-side utility vehicle went up in flames Tuesday on Greeley Brook Road.
Firefighters were called to the area about 6 p.m. for a report that a side-by-side-style UTV engulfed in flames that were spreading into woods. Fire crews quickly called for mutual aid, but the other departments were canceled after Oxford firefighters knocked down the blazes.
All that remained of the UTV was a blackened shell. It was not immediately clear who owned the vehicle or what caused it to go up in flames. The fire was being investigated later Tuesday.
