WOODSTOCK — Woodstock Town Manager Vern Maxwell has announced that beginning on or about July 25, excavating will begin to replace the “Bacon Bridge” culvert near 354 Old County Road and Maplewood Lane. This project will require the Old County Road being closed to through traffic beginning July 25th.
Signage will be placed at the intersection with Route 232, and near the intersection of Railroad St and Route 26 in Bryant Pond Village, notifying motorists that Old County Road is closed to through traffic.
Maxwell says the town anticipates the project to last between 4 and 8 weeks.
Please call the Woodstock Town Office at 207-744-7667 with any questions concerning the project.
Maxwell notes the town apologizes for the inconvenience this will cause.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
