To the Editor:
Congratulations and Thank You to the thirty-seven community members who participated in this year’s 18th Annual Shy, Novice & Closeted Art Show, held on July 2. Each shy, novice, or closeted artist experiences a unique journey when deciding, or being convinced by a friend or neighbor, to show their art to the public. Good on you for sticking with it, following through, or simply making the decision to participate. That action is what makes the SN&C Art Show such a wonderful show! And a lovely experience for all who participate.
Community, friends, and strangers, thank you for visiting this year’s show and supporting your local Shy, Novice & Closeted artists. This exchange is what makes the event a success. Thank you Bethel Area Arts & Music (BAAM) for your support and congratulations on your Art Market at the Philbrook Place.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
