LEWISTON — Lewiston Public Schools is planning a hiring event for positions in all departments.
The gathering is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. next Friday, Aug. 5, at The Green Ladle at Lewiston High school, 156 East Ave.
Open positions include teachers, education technicians, language facilitators, administrative assistants, custodians and food service workers.
Representatives and hiring managers from all departments and schools will be available to answer questions.
The school district will cover the $70 fee for a criminal history background check and fingerprinting for those who submit an application at the event.
School districts across Maine have been plagued by staffing shortages at all levels, especially over the past couple of years, placing increased strain on teachers and staff members.
“I love the people I am able to work with each day,” Superintendent Jake Langlais wrote Friday on Twitter. “If you came to impact our kids lives here — I believe you would love it too!”
