BUCKFIELD — Town officials have postponed the Select Board meeting scheduled for Tuesday due to an expected lack of a quorum.
The meeting has been rescheduled to Thursday, Aug. 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Office, 34 Turner St.
A quorum is the minimum number of board members who must be present for a meeting to be considered valid.
The five-member Select Board now has four members following the recent resignation of Cameron Hinkley, who has become interim town manager.
Lorna Nichols resigned two weeks ago for an unspecified position closer to her hometown of New Sharon in Franklin County. Her last day in Buckfield is expected to be in mid-August.
Nomination papers to fill the final year of Hinkley’s term, through June 30, 2023, are available at the Town Office. The papers must be returned to the Town Office by Sept. 9, with the vote scheduled for Nov. 8.
