I am a lifelong Democrat who will be voting for Republican candidate Neil McLean for district attorney for Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties.
This position can’t be driven by political views. It is dangerous to justice when it is politically motivated.
The district attorney should honor the law above politics, value public safety over party affiliation, and care deeply for everyone within the community they serve, especially those people who suffer crime directly, or those affected by crime generally.
Neil McLean embodies all of these characteristics.
He is thoughtful, he is honest, he is knowledgeable and, importantly, he is experienced. He has dedicated more than 15 years to serving people fairly, equally and — above all — justly. He is also an Army veteran who understands service and sacrifice.
I hope voters join me, regardless of your party affiliation, in voting for Neil Mclean for district attorney on Nov. 8.
