DEAR SUN SPOTS: Danville Junction Grange at 15 Grange St. in Auburn will hold a flea market and craft fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 3 in the parking lot. We will be doing a 50/50 raffle and there will be a baked goods table inside the hall with all other tables outside. To rent a table call 312-5591.

If Mother Nature should bless us with rain, it will be necessary to cancel. Otherwise, we look forward to seeing all our friends and neighbors who have been so generous in the past and have helped us raise money for repairs on our hall. — No name, Auburn

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a clothes dryer that needs tending to. It’s old but sturdy so I’d rather spend the money on a reliable repair than buy new. I was brought up to make things last!—Guila, no town

ANSWER: Me too! In the Rolodex I have Brown’s Appliance (https://www.brownsapplianceservices.com, 212-3444); The Appliance Guys (https://theapplianceguys.business.site/, 440-4265; Brooks Appliance & Repair (713-6221); and Wayne’s Appliance Repair (225-2966). I hope one of these technicians can get your dryer on their schedule.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’d like to have an energy assessment done on my home. I’m trying to decide if I should change how I heat it and make sure the insulation and windows are up to snuff. — Howie, no town

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am interested in downsizing and moving into a smaller home with less stuff. I’d love to get advice from people who have done this and just share ideas. I’d like to stay in the central Maine area but wouldn’t say no to be being a bit farther away if the opportunity felt right for me. I would consider a tiny house but maybe a mini house (about 600-800 square feet) is a more accurate description of what I’m thinking of for my retirement years. I’d love to have suggestions from the kind folks in Sun Spots Land. — Jan, Lewiston

ANSWER: I hear you and I’m always interested in this topic myself. Readers, let’s get a helpful conversation going, shall we?
