DEAR SUN SPOTS: I need information on the Maine Property Tax Stabilization for Senior Citizens. I printed the application and need to know what to do next. — No name, Lewiston

ANSWER: Let’s start with Step One. For those of you who are wondering how to get the applications, according to the website https://tinyurl.com/mrymuz4n, they are available at the Maine Revenue Services website or your local municipal office. Call the Property Tax Division of Maine Revenue Services at 624-5600 to have an application mailed.

Next, complete the application and submit it by Dec. 1, with required proof of identity, such as a Maine driver’s license, to your local municipality. The municipality will review and approve or deny the application.

The website also addresses frequently asked questions about the program.

Lewiston residents can mail applications to Lewiston Assessing Department, 27 Pine St., Lewiston, ME 04240 or drop them off at the assessor’s office at City Hall. DEAR SUN SPOTS: Regarding the Aug. 26 Sun Spots, I would like to recommend Healthy Homes in Farmington to do an energy home audit.

They work with Efficiency Maine. If your home is valued at less than $90K and you meet income levels, the audit is free. Otherwise, you pay $100 and they will caulk and weather-strip your doors.  Nolan and Scott are great! — Vicki, Rumford

ANSWER: Thank you for the recommendation! The number is 779-7486.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Regarding the Aug. 30 Sun Spots about mushroom coffee, I also use RYZE and can recommend it. I put oat milk, honey and cinnamon in mine and I’d say it tastes like instant coffee. I feel more mellow throughout the day.

I used to be a big coffee hound then managed to get down to one cup, but this is even better for me and I haven’t felt like I had to rule out coffee entirely. Now the real stuff is just more of a treat. — Al, Lisbon Falls
