WINTHROP Morgan Thibodeau and Killian Pillsbury each punched in a pair of goals to lead Mt. Abram to 6-0 victory over Winthrop in a boys soccer game on Wednesday.

Mt. Abram (4-1) built a sturdy 4-0 lead by halftime. Sam Cockerham and Byrce Wilcox also scored goals.

It was a total team effort for the Roadrunners, with assists going to Thibodeau, Kaden Pillsbury, Bear Rollins, Tucker Plouffe, Jose’ Torres and Payton Mitchell.

Winthrop’s (1-2) Jaxson August made 14 saves against the Roadrunners. Mt. Abram’s Trey Pease made two saves for the shutout.

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 8, TELSTAR 0: Ben DeSalle and Tanner Henry each kicked in a pair of goals to steer the Falcons (1-2) past the Rebels (0-4) in Bethel.

Kaden Mills, Dexter Rice, Aidan Granados and Alessio Fanelli each scored a goal for Mountain Valley.


CARRABEC 5, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN/DIRIGO 2: Jackson Newton, Seth Price and Luke Carey all scored for the Cobras (2-2), who went on the road and beat the Phoenix (1-4) in Jay.

Lucas Towers scored both goals for Spruce Mountain/Dirigo, with Jesse Lewis assisting one of the goals.

Logan Knight made eight saves in goal for the Phoenix, and Kayden Longley stopped one shot on goal for Carrabec.

DIRIGO 6, HALL-DALE 0: Grace Robbins and Grace Averill each scored two goals in the Cougars’ (4-1) victory over the Bulldogs (1-3-1) in Dixfield.

Averill’s goals in the first half gave Dirigo a 2-0 lead, thanks to assists by Robbins and Lana Waite, at halftime. Then Robbins scored back-to-back goals in the third, with assists going to Jayce Brophy and Waite.

Brophy and Kara Woods each scored goals in the fourth quarter with assistance from Emily Woods on both occasions. Winning goalie Alivia Ellis made two saves. Jade Graham made 16 saves for Hall-Dale.


WINTHROP 11, BOOTHBAY 1: Madeline Wagner turned in a hat trick and added an assist and Izzy Folsom scored one of her two goals on a fourth-quarter penalty stroke as the Ramblers (5-1) rolled over the Seahawks (0-4) in Winthrop.

Julia Letourneau, Bella Littler and Lauryn Wood each scored two goals for Winthrop. Kate Campbell scored an unassisted goal for Boothbay in the fourth quarter.

Madison Weymouth made four saves and got the win in net for the Ramblers.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER/NYA 2, YARMOUTH 1: Emma Bowden and Greta Tod scored in the first half and the Patriots (2-3) held on for a win over the Clippers (1-3) in Gray.

Callie Stratford picked up an assist on Bowden’s goal.

Celia Zinman put Yarmouth on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter.


Winning goalie Sam Poulin made six saves.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 4, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 0: The Phoenix (5-1) erupted with four goals in the second half to roll away with a victory over Mountain Valley (2-2-1) in Jay.

Olivia Mastine Scored all three of her goals in the third period, receiving assists from Mariyah Fournier, Avery Bessey and Aubrey Kachnovich. Brooklyn Fournier scored in the fourth period on an assist by Leah Burgess.

Mallory Clark and Hannah Jewett split goalkeeping duties for Spruce Mountain, combining for two saves. Brooke Brown made 11 saves for the Falcons.

YORK 5, POLAND 0: Gail Armlin scored twice for the Wildcats (5-0) in their road shutout win over the Knights (1-3) in Poland.

Nya Avery, Emma Joyce and Bella Santini added a goal apiece for York.


Poland goalie Addison Michaud made 12 saves.

LEWISTON 3, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 1: The Blue Devils (2-3) closed out the four-set win over the Panthers (1-4) with a dominant final set in Yarmouth.

Lewiston won the first set 25-16 and the second set 25-23 before North Yarmouth Academy won the third set 25-16. The Blue Devils closed out the match by winning the fourth set 25-12.

Kaitlyn Shannon was 21 for 23 serving for Lewiston, with 11 aces and four digs. Kassy Cornejo added nine assists, Kenzie Garcia recorded six aces, three kills and three digs, and Nadifo Heban notched five aces and three kills.

For NYA, Sally Stronge picked up 16 digs, Sarah English smacked four kills and Madilyn Onorato added two kills and one block.

BATES 3, HUSSON 0: Ciaran Bardong scored with an assist from Bobby Dall to break a tie in the 28th minute as the Bobcats (3-1) pulled away and blanked the Eagles (2-2) at Lewiston.


Gerard Costa Farre scored early in the second half on a feed from Tife Agunloye, and Cesar Hoover closed out the scoring as he converted his penalty kick in the final minute.

CMCC 2, SMCC 0: Igor and Ivan Domingues each scored goals for the Mustangs in a win over the rival Seawolves in Auburn.

Igor scored with just over five minutes left in the first half off an assist from Abdiraqib Yussuf, while Ivan rounded out the scoring in the 68th minute, with an assist from Romano Bassa.

Arnaud Nyagasaza made 11 saves to earn the shutout for Central Maine Community College, and Andrew Pike stopped 11 of 13 shots for Southern Maine Community College.

U. OF NEW ENGLAND 1, UM-FARMINGTON 1: Trevor Krueger polished off a pass from Maxon Brochu in the 70th minute to lead the Beavers (0-2-1) to a draw with the Nor’easters (0-4-2) at Biddeford.

Alex Woodworth scored on a Luke Gould feed to break a scoreless tie in the 49th minute.


Sean McCarthy stopped six shots for UNE; Johan Sautter had a pair of saves for UMaine-Farmington.

SOUTHERN MAINE 4, UMAINE-FARMINGTON 0: Catriona Gould had a goal in each half and Hunter Stonebraker needed one save as the Huskies (4-1) blanked the Beavers (1-4) at Gorham.

Gaby Panagakos added a first-half goal, and Riley Reitchel closed the scoring for Southern Maine on a Panagakos pass.

Paige Gonya made nine saves for UMaine-Farmington.

BABSON 4, BATES 2: Meara Hanyon knocked home a penalty corner 1:11 into the second quarter to break a 1-1 tie and Isabelle Fournier added a goal 1:17 later as the Beavers (3-1) took a 3-1 edge to halftime and topped the Bobcats (3-1) at Lewiston.

Hanyon added a second penalty corner late in the third quarter for Babson.
