Leo Edward Cyr

AUBURN – Leo Edward Cyr, 84, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, after a seven year battle with dementia.

Leo was born on April 17, 1938, to Edmond and Yvonne Cailler Cyr. He was predeceased by his parents, his beloved daughter Elizabeth (Liz) Parnell, and his brothers Raymond, Robert, and Paul.

He leaves behind his wife Rachel Tardif Cyr, his sisters Jeannette, Rita, and Diane along with three sisters-in-law Bernadette Thibeault, Fernande Cyr, Arlene Tardif, and a son-in-law David Parnell.

Leo is also survived by his caring former son-in-law Brian Wilson, his caregiver Lou Giard, his Jimmy Pond neighbors and friends, and Normand and Cheryl Rivard who were especially supportive to both Leo and Rachel during Leo’s long illness.

Also left to mourn his loss are his beloved children Nicole Cyr (Todd Yates), his son John (Joe) Cyr, and his daughter Rachel Cyr; his beloved grandchildren Danielle (Brandon) Englert and their children Alyssa and Abigale; Miguel (Mary) Cyr and their children Miguel and Myah; Erica Parnell; Alexandria (James) Gayton and their child Moira; Mikayla Parnell; Brianna (John) Peters and their child Elijah; Bradley Matthews; Gabrielle Wilson; and Zachary Wilson and his girlfriend Lanyha Spearman.

The family wishes to thank Androscoggin Hospice House and the caregivers who gave Leo and our family so much comfort.

Memorial Services honoring Leo’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022, at 4 p.m., at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home. Interment will be held privately at St. Peter’s Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022, from 2-4 p.m., prior to the service at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway in Lewiston 784-4023.
