AUBURN – Richard C.
Higgins, 79, passed away Sept. 3, 2022, of a long battle with multiple health complications.
He was born June 15, 1943 to Henry “Alec” Higgins and Noella Pelletier. A 1961 graduate of Edward Little High School he served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy and retired from the United States Postal Service.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Shirley; son, Rick; sister, Faye Bowman.
He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Higgins; five stepchildren, Kim Ouellette, whom he lived with in his final days, Becky, Bruce, Brad Brown and Gail Michaud; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and his dear friend, Sue.
He loved Elvis, Branson, Mo., country music, cruises, cars and telling jokes.
There will be a ceremony held at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 980 Turner St., on Sept. 28 at 10 a.m.
