Michael Levesque, 53, of Yarmouth was traveling south on Harrison Road around 4 p.m. when his motorcycle went off the road onto a soft shoulder. He lost control of the bike and was thrown off.
Levesque was not wearing a helmet and struck his head on pavement, according to a statement by Capt. Kerry Joyce of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. Levesque was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Levesque was traveling with several other riders, but no one else was injured. The cause remains under investigation, but it does not appear that impairment or speed were factors, Joyce said.
