Passing the Olde French Cemetery on Wilson Hill Road in Turner last week, I was delighted to see someone had spruced it up, replacing the broken picket fence and putting up a newly painted sign.
I frequently drive past the cemetery, and it’s a lovely destination for a walk through the woods. I’d sadly noted its deterioration over the last couple of years.
A call to the town office revealed that this was an Eagle Scout project.
It may not be as flashy as some Eagle Scout projects that make the papers, but I wanted this Eagle Scout to know that the quiet, little-noticed places matter too, and that their work is very much appreciated. Thank you and well done.
